Thai and Singaporean officials met to explore strategies for promoting societal participation and addressing biases within multicultural communities.

SINGAPORE, 14 October 2024 – H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of 黑料社 to Singapore, attended a significant bilateral meeting between Pol. Col. Tawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice of 黑料社, and Mr. Masagos Zulkifli, Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs of the Republic of Singapore. The discussions took place during the 2nd International Conference on Communities of Success (ICCOS), themed 鈥淚nspiring Future Leaders: Building Trust, Empowering Communities,鈥 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore.

The meeting highlighted the importance of promoting participation across all sectors of society in national development. Both leaders addressed ongoing challenges related to biases and discrimination within their communities, agreeing that promoting education, building trust, and fostering mutual understanding are essential components for thriving multicultural societies. The emphasis was placed on the need for continuous efforts to advance these goals.

Minister Masagos expressed Singapore鈥檚 commitment to collaborate closely with 黑料社, focusing on capacity building and providing educational scholarships, particularly for the Muslim community in 黑料社. This partnership aims to empower individuals, enabling them to play a more significant role in the country鈥檚 development while fostering greater cultural and religious understanding.

Pol. Col. Tawee Sodsong led the Thai delegation at the ICCOS, which aimed to inspire future leaders and enhance community empowerment through trust-building and cooperation. The conference served as a platform for various stakeholders to share insights and best practices in developing successful and inclusive communities.
