Experience the vibrancy of Southeast Asia鈥檚 visual arts scene during Singapore Art Week 2025, featuring over 130 events across the island
Singapore, 22 November 2024 鈥 Singapore Art Week (SAW), Southeast Asia鈥檚 ten-day pinnacle visual arts season, returns from 17 to 26 January 2025 for its 13th edition, promising an inspiring and diverse showcase from 17 to 26 January 2025. Organised by the National Arts Council (NAC) and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), this ten-day celebration will feature over 130 events that invite art enthusiasts and the public alike to explore the rich tapestry of local and international creative expressions.
Tay Tong, Director of the Arts Ecosystem Group (Visual Arts) at NAC, highlighted the event鈥檚 role in cementing Singapore鈥檚 reputation as a regional arts hub. “SAW underscores the vitality of Singapore鈥檚 visual arts ecosystem by showcasing the works of both emerging and established artists. It鈥檚 a platform that connects creatives and audiences, shining a spotlight on the country鈥檚 dynamic arts landscape,鈥 he stated.
The 2025 edition will once again transform the island into a vibrant arts arena, featuring beloved events like ART SG, Light to Night Festival themed “Do You See Me?”, and S.E.A. Focus. A range of unconventional programmes, such as the travelling miniature gallery Con-Temporary Art and the SATS Experiential Centre’s DIGikat 鈥 Our Social Fabric, will redefine traditional art spaces. Culinary innovation also takes centre stage with exclusive dining experiences that blend art and gastronomy.
Adding to the excitement, Marina Bay Sands will host the Behind the Canvas Series 1: Jean-Michel Basquiat, an immersive exhibition honouring the renowned American artist, alongside an expanded Masterpieces Art Trail with 21 public installations. Meanwhile, Sotheby鈥檚 Modern and Contemporary Art exhibition and auction will further enrich the city鈥檚 cultural calendar.
As SAW embraces Singapore鈥檚 urban fabric, initiatives like the Art in Transit programme will bring creative installations to MRT stations and viaducts, offering commuters daily encounters with art. Community-driven projects such as National Antiquities Parade and Singkarpor REMIXED will also mark the nation鈥檚 60th year of independence with reflections on heritage and progress.
