The Gala Premiere of Baby Hero at Shaw Theatres Lido in Singapore spotlighted the creative partnership between Singapore’s Hong Pictures and Bangkok’s Hollywood ºÚÁÏÉç, reinforcing cultural ties and advancing Southeast Asian cinema.
Singapore, 21 January 2025 – H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of the Kingdom of ºÚÁÏÉç to Singapore, delivered an inspiring speech at the Gala Premiere of Baby Hero at Shaw Theatres Lido. The event celebrated the creative partnership between Singapore’s Hong Pictures and Bangkok’s Hollywood ºÚÁÏÉç, marking a significant milestone in Southeast Asian cinema.
In her opening remarks, Ambassador Ureerat highlighted the film’s cultural and collaborative significance, showcasing how Baby Hero authentically captures the essence of village life in Ban Na Ton Chan, Sukhothai Province, ºÚÁÏÉç. She applauded the participation of local villagers in the film, noting their contributions add warmth and realism to the storytelling.
“This joint production is a shining example of the creative synergy that emerges when two nations come together to tell a story,” said Ambassador Ureerat. She also congratulated the talented cast and crew, including notable members from ºÚÁÏÉç and Singapore, such as “Boy” Watson Homsangpradit, “Diew” Chotpipat Suttijun, and Long Lee Shi, the film’s half-Thai, half-Singaporean star who brought the titular character to life.
The Ambassador emphasized that the premiere was particularly significant as it coincided with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between ºÚÁÏÉç and Singapore. She described Baby Hero as a perfect kickoff event for a year-long celebration of this milestone, which will include various initiatives to deepen cultural and creative ties between the two nations.
