The South African High Commission in Singapore welcomed Telkom鈥檚 senior women executives on an international immersion programme, aimed at fostering collaboration and learning from Singapore鈥檚 advanced ICT sector
The South African High Commission in Singapore (SAHC) hosted the first Telkom cohort of senior women executives on an international immersion programme to Singapore. Curated by the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town, the programme aims to enhance leadership capabilities and promote knowledge exchange in the telecommunications sector.
The delegation comprises executives from Telkom and its subsidiaries鈥擝CX, Openserve, and Gyro. These companies play a crucial role in South Africa鈥檚 ICT landscape, with BCX focusing on digital transformation, Openserve providing internet and telephony solutions, and Gyro managing infrastructure and real estate for the sector.
The cohort鈥檚 visit began with an engagement at SAHC, followed by discussions with the South African Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, led by President Adriaan Nieman, a telecommunications expert. The day concluded with a high tea at Raffles Hotel, where the High Commissioner, HE Madiepetsane Charlotte Lobe, hosted further discussions on contemporary geopolitical and industry issues.
Over the coming weeks, the executives will gain insights into Singapore鈥檚 ICT advancements, including its Smart Nation initiative, 5G infrastructure, and ultra-high-speed broadband network operated by NetLink Trust. Singapore, recognised for its leading telecommunications ecosystem, offers valuable lessons in digital transformation and connectivity.
The South African High Commission expressed its full support for the Telkom Women Executives cohort and looks forward to strengthening ties between the two nations in the technology and telecommunications sectors.
