Meta and the Singapore Government have partnered to launch the Llama Incubator Program, an initiative to drive AI innovation and support local businesses, start-ups, and public sector agencies in Singapore.

Meta, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development & Information (MDDI), InfoComm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Government Technology Agency (GovTech), Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), AI Singapore, and SGInnovate, has launched the Llama Incubator Program in Singapore. This is the first initiative of its kind by Meta in the Asia-Pacific region.

The program, supported by e27 and Deloitte, will enable 100 organizations to leverage Meta’s open-source AI model, Llama, to develop innovative AI solutions. 40 selected participants will be incubated to address real-world business and public sector challenges.

To kick off the program, Meta hosted a Foundational Workshop on Llama’s potential and its built-in trust and safety tools. The event, attended by over 100 participants, featured a keynote address by Dr. Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State for Digital Development, Information & Health.

Meta鈥檚 Vice President of Public Policy for APAC, Simon Milner, emphasized the program鈥檚 alignment with Singapore鈥檚 Smart Nation 2.0 AI vision, which aims to empower small businesses and attract start-ups.

Over the next six months, participants will receive:

  • Technical and business mentorship from AI industry experts
  • Access to technical resources for developing and refining Llama-based AI solutions
  • AI safety training, including IMDA鈥檚 safety testing framework and AI Verify鈥檚 Project Moonshot

Philbert Gomez, Executive Director of DISG, highlighted how the incubator will strengthen Singapore鈥檚 position as a regional AI hub.

GovTech鈥檚 Chief Executive, Goh Wei Boon, also noted that the Public Service track will allow government officers to work with industry partners on AI-driven solutions tailored to public sector needs.

Meta鈥檚 commitment to democratizing AI ensures that start-ups, researchers, and underrepresented groups gain access to powerful tools that foster transparency, accountability, and innovation.

The program will culminate in a Demo Day in October 2025, where participants will present their AI solutions and showcase their potential impact on businesses and the public sector.
