MOU signed in Singapore to advance sustainability-focused, humanity-centred design.
Singapore, 19 November 2025 鈥 Singapore hosted the opening ceremony of the Don Norman Design Award (DNDA) Summit 2025, where regional partners gathered to advance collaboration in design education aimed at sustainable societal impact. Mrs Chonlatee Chanrachakul, Charg茅 d鈥橝ffaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
The MOU formalised cooperation between Singapore Polytechnic, Thammasat Design School, and King Mongkut鈥檚 Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. The partnership aims to strengthen academic exchange, enhance joint programmes, and promote research in design that prioritises long-term, people-centred impact under the 鈥渉umanity-centred design鈥 framework.
Held in Singapore, the DNDA Summit 2025 brought together design educators, innovators, and institutional leaders from across the region. The discussions focused on how design can meaningfully address real-world challenges and contribute to sustainable development across communities, industries, and public systems.
Singapore underscored the importance of cross-border collaboration in fostering talent and promoting design methodologies that support inclusivity, environmental responsibility, and improved quality of life. The initiative aligns with Singapore鈥檚 broader commitment to strengthening regional educational partnerships and driving innovation through design thinking.
