Delegates reviewed regional cybersecurity cooperation and future capacity-building priorities.
Singapore took part in the 18th ASEAN鈥揓apan Cybersecurity Policy Meeting (AJCPM), held in Tokyo, Japan, where representatives from ASEAN Member States and Japan discussed ongoing and emerging areas of cybersecurity collaboration. The meeting was co-chaired by Japan and the Lao People鈥檚 Democratic Republic.
Mr Ong Kok Wee, Assistant Chief Executive (Policy and Corporate Development) at the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), led the Singapore delegation. During the discussions, participants focused on critical information infrastructure protection, cooperation between Cyber Emergency Response Teams (CERTs), and regional capacity-building efforts to enhance cyber resilience across ASEAN.
The Singapore delegation provided an update on initiatives undertaken through the ASEAN鈥揝ingapore Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (ASCCE), including training programmes and technical exchanges. Singapore also expressed its appreciation for the continued active engagement by ASEAN Member States in these regional efforts.
Mr Ong additionally spoke during the panel session on 鈥淜ey Challenges and Future Topics for AJCCA鈥檚 Activities鈥 at the 2nd ASEAN鈥揓apan Cybersecurity Community Alliance (AJCCA) Conference. He emphasised the importance of strong collaboration between governments, industry stakeholders, and technical communities to build a robust and trusted cybersecurity ecosystem.
Singapore reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Japan and ASEAN partners to advance collective cybersecurity capabilities and strengthen a safe and secure regional cyberspace.
