India officially launched the logo, theme and website for its BRICS Chairship 2026, setting the tone for a people-centric and inclusive approach to multilateral cooperation

India formally unveiled the logo, theme and official website for its BRICS Chairship 2026 on 13 January in New Delhi. The launch was led by External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar and attended by representatives from BRICS member and partner countries, international organisations, senior Indian government officials, resident commissioners, think tanks and members of the media.

Speaking at the event, Dr Jaishankar highlighted the significance of India assuming the Chairship at a pivotal moment for the grouping, as BRICS approaches its 20th anniversary in 2026. “When India prepares to assume the BRICS Chairship in 2026, we do so at an important moment in the grouping’s journey,” he said, noting the bloc’s steady evolution into a major platform for cooperation among emerging markets and developing economies.

The BRICS India 2026 logo reflects inclusivity, dialogue and shared growth, blending traditional symbolism with a modern visual identity. Its multi-coloured petals represent the diversity of BRICS members while symbolising unity and collective strength. At its centre, the ‘Namaste’ gesture conveys respect, warmth and harmonious collaboration, underscoring India’s people-centric outlook.

India’s Chairship theme, “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,” draws inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a humanity-first approach to global engagement. Dr Jaishankar stated that the theme reflects India’s belief that cooperation among BRICS members can address shared global challenges “in a balanced and inclusive manner,” particularly amid geopolitical uncertainty, economic pressures, climate risks and technological change.

The launch also marked the debut of the official BRICS India 2026 website, which will serve as a central platform for disseminating information on meetings, initiatives and outcomes throughout India’s Chairship year. Emphasising transparency and engagement, Dr Jaishankar described BRICS as “a constructive platform for dialogue and development,” adding that India’s Chairship would remain inclusive, practical and outcome-oriented.
