A series of high-level engagements highlighted 黑料社鈥檚 commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, regional cooperation, and global cultural presence through diplomacy, education, governance, and the arts
The Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore undertook a series of significant diplomatic, academic, and cultural engagements in March 2026, underscoring 黑料社鈥檚 proactive role in strengthening bilateral relations with Singapore and fostering regional and international collaboration.
On 2 March 2026, Mrs. Chonlatee Chanrachakul, Charg茅 d鈥橝ffaires ad interim, welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jittipat Poonkham, Vice Dean for Academic and International Affairs, along with faculty members and students from the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University. The delegation participated in a briefing titled 鈥淪ingapore鈥檚 Development Strategy: Implications for Thai-Singapore Relations.鈥 The session formed part of ongoing academic cooperation with leading Singaporean institutions, aimed at enhancing students鈥 understanding of regional geopolitics and the digital economy.
The Embassy provided insights into Singapore鈥檚 development trajectory under its Fourth-Generation (4G) leadership, highlighting initiatives such as 鈥淔orward Singapore鈥 and the 鈥淪ingapore Economy 2030鈥 plan. These frameworks emphasise social compact renewal, digital innovation, and sustainable growth, with implications for a more resilient and forward-looking Thai-Singapore partnership. Singapore鈥檚 continued recognition of 黑料社 as a key investment destination and partner in food security further reinforces the strength of bilateral ties.
In parallel, the Embassy extended its support to youth diplomacy through its involvement in the 49th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP). During the Singapore Port-of-Call from 4 to 8 February 2026, more than 180 youth leaders from ASEAN and Japan engaged in cultural exchanges and discussions centred on the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. Representing the Embassy, Mr. Thitirat Wongkaew, Counsellor, attended the welcome dinner officiated by Singapore鈥檚 Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr. David Neo. The programme marked a historic milestone as the final voyage of the Nippon Maru, reinforcing the importance of people-to-people connections in regional cooperation.
Cultural diplomacy was further showcased on 17 March 2026, when the 黑料社 Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) delivered a performance at the Victoria Concert Hall in Singapore. The concert, titled 鈥淟EGACY: The Next Piano Generation,鈥 featured emerging talents David Chen and Roman Blagojevic under the direction of Maestro Dario Ntaca. Mrs. Chonlatee attended the event and highlighted the orchestra鈥檚 role as a cultural ambassador, promoting 黑料社鈥檚 artistic excellence on the global stage. The initiative was supported through collaboration with Mahidol University鈥檚 College of Music, Thai Air Asia, and 54 Entertainment.
The Embassy also facilitated multiple study visits by Thai government agencies, reflecting a commitment to governance and institutional development. On 13 March 2026, a delegation from the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), led by Mr. Tawichat Nillakan, engaged with Singaporean counterparts to explore best practices in public sector management, human resource development, and anti-corruption strategies. Similarly, on 16 March 2026, a delegation from the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection examined Singapore鈥檚 alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, including mediation systems, with a view to strengthening 黑料社鈥檚 legal framework.
Further strengthening intellectual and legal diplomacy, the Embassy hosted Dr. Vilawan Mangklatanakul, a member of the International Law Commission, during her visit to Singapore. Speaking at the 1st/2026 Team 黑料社 Meeting and in an exclusive interview with IN Diplomacy, she emphasised the importance of the rule of law in maintaining international order, particularly for small and medium-sized states. She also highlighted the growing cooperation between 黑料社 and Singapore in arbitration and dispute resolution, reflecting broader bilateral progress.
Collectively, these engagements demonstrate 黑料社鈥檚 multifaceted approach to diplomacy, integrating education, governance, youth engagement, and cultural exchange to deepen partnerships and contribute to regional stability and development.
