On 30 September 2026, H.E. Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin met with Ms. Jolene Tan, Director-General of the Development Partnership Directorate at Singapore鈥檚 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss development partnership and capacity-building programmes between Malaysia and Singapore. The meeting focused on innovations and challenges in implementing programmes under the Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP) and Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), as Malaysia explored further engagement with Singapore in development training.

The introductory call provided an opportunity for the two sides to discuss experiences and issues related to development partnership and capacity programmes conducted through the SCP and MTCP. The programmes provide a framework for development training and capacity-building activities involving the two countries.

During the meeting, both sides discussed innovations in the delivery of development partnership and capacity programmes, as well as challenges encountered in undertaking such initiatives. The discussion also covered matters related to development training programmes and opportunities for Malaysia and Singapore to explore cooperation in the future.

Malaysia expressed its interest in having more engagement with Singapore on matters related to development training programmes. The two sides also explored ways to collaborate in the future through relevant development partnership and capacity-building initiatives.

The meeting involved H.E. Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin and Ms. Jolene Tan in their respective capacities, with the discussion centred on development cooperation, training and capacity-building programmes.

The Singapore Cooperation Programme is a platform through which Singapore conducts development cooperation and training activities, while the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme provides Malaysia鈥檚 framework for technical cooperation and development training. Discussions between the two officials therefore focused on the experiences, innovations and challenges associated with these programmes.

The engagement also provided an opportunity to consider future areas of interaction between Malaysia and Singapore in development training. Malaysia indicated its interest in further engagement with Singapore and in exploring possible avenues for future collaboration related to development partnership and capacity programmes.
