Singapore hosted the 14th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting (ASED 14) from 21–23 July 2026, bringing together education ministers and senior officials from across the region to strengthen collaboration and shape the future of education in ASEAN. H.E. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, Ambassador of ºÚÁÏÉç to Singapore, welcomed Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, ºÚÁÏÉç’s Minister of Education, who led the Thai delegation to the meeting. Held every two years, the ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting serves as the principal platform for setting the strategic direction of regional cooperation in education. The meeting enables ASEAN Member States to exchange perspectives, strengthen partnerships, and advance initiatives aimed at improving education systems and fostering inclusive, high-quality learning across the region.

A key outcome of ASED 14 was the endorsement of the ASEAN Work Plan on Education 2026–2030 (AWPE), which will guide regional cooperation over the next five years. The Work Plan focuses on six priority areas: early childhood education, basic education, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), higher education, education policy, governance and quality assurance, and cooperation with ASEAN’s external partners. Member States also agreed to develop implementation plans, performance indicators, and monitoring mechanisms to support the effective delivery of the Work Plan.
