Deputy Minister G. Amartuvshin and Deputy Secretary Kevin Cheok co-chaired talks covering bilateral relations, carbon market cooperation, and expanded diplomatic exchange between Mongolia and Singapore.

The third consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore were held in Singapore on 23 September 2026, co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs G. Amartuvshin on the Mongolian side and Deputy Secretary (Asia Pacific) Mr Kevin Cheok on the Singaporean side.

The two sides exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations, upcoming visits and events, and priority areas for cooperation, discussing ways to strengthen political dialogue and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and investment. The Mongolian side also expressed appreciation for training and capacity-building opportunities provided to approximately 2,000 Mongolian public officials in fields including public administration, education and healthcare under the Singapore Cooperation Programme.

Discussions also covered increasing exchanges between the two foreign ministries, including arranging reciprocal opportunities for junior and mid-career diplomats to learn from each other’s experience. The Mongolian side proposed establishing links between the two countries’ diplomatic academies.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation between Mongolia and Singapore, discussing potential joint initiatives between relevant organisations from the two countries. The discussions covered a wide range of areas, including social protection and savings systems, sovereign wealth fund management, digital governance, cybersecurity, carbon markets, renewable energy, data centres, fuel supply, and rare earth elements.

Ambassador G. Uyanga discussed the wellbeing of Mongolian students in Singapore and explored opportunities to strengthen cultural and educational cooperation with the Association’s leadership.

Her Excellency Ms G. Uyanga, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Singapore, received Mr G. Tegshbayar, President of the Association of Mongolian Students in Singapore, and Mr N. Nomt, Secretary-General of the Association, at the Embassy.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the circumstances of Mongolian students studying in Singapore, the Association’s ongoing activities, and its future plans and initiatives. Discussions also covered opportunities to strengthen cooperation among Mongolian students in Singapore, encourage their active participation in community life, and jointly organise educational and cultural activities promoting Mongolia.

Mongolia and Singapore discussed carbon markets, green energy, trade and investment cooperation.

H.E. Dr. Uyanga Ganbold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Singapore, met Ms. Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, on 1 September 2026. Their discussions focused on Mongolia–Singapore relations especially in the sector of trade and investment, carbon markets and the green economy.

The two sides discussed implementing their carbon credits cooperation agreement under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, as well as opportunities to support renewable energy and projects linked to Mongolia’s transition from coal to green energy.

Minister Fu expressed Singapore’s readiness to support capacity building for relevant Mongolian officials, including training through the Singapore Cooperation Programme. She also discussed facilitating closer links between businesses in both countries.

Dr Uyanga Ganbold, Ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of Singapore, received Mr. Wong Jia Wei, Senior Director for Northeast Asia at the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), and Ms. Yvonne Zou, Assistant Manager for Northeast Asia, International Business Division at SBF, on 20 August 2026.

The meeting focused on strengthening business engagement between Mongolia and Singapore, including plans for the Embassy of Mongolia in Singapore and SBF to jointly organise the next business forum.

H.E. Dr Ganbold and the SBF representatives also exchanged views on opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, alongside sectors such as carbon credits, energy and logistics.

SBF promotes trade, investment and business partnerships between Singapore and Northeast Asian countries. In its engagement with Mongolia, the federation has supported business connections through business-to-business meetings and joint events.

Mongolia’s Ulaanbaatar Amazons secured third place among 16 teams at the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Singapore 2026.

Mongolia’s Ulaanbaatar Amazons won the bronze medal at the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Singapore 2026, held in Singapore from 13 to 14 August. The team finished third in the 16-team international competition.

The Embassy of Mongolia in Singapore congratulated the players, coaches and team on their achievement, highlighting the team’s skill, endurance and competitiveness in women’s 3×3 basketball.
