Poland and Singapore have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in security, cybersecurity, emerging technologies, and economic resilience during high-level meetings held in Warsaw.

On 19 May 2026, Mr. Radosław Sikorski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, met with Mr. K. Shanmugam, Singapore’s Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, in Warsaw, Poland.

The discussions focused on strengthening Poland-Singapore cooperation in traditional security areas, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, and economic resilience. Both sides also explored opportunities for closer collaboration in logistics and other strategic sectors.

A key topic during the meeting was cybersecurity and the growing challenges posed by hybrid threats, reflecting the increasing importance of international cooperation in addressing evolving global security risks.

The meeting also highlighted the growing potential for stronger Europe-Southeast Asia partnerships in tackling shared geopolitical and economic challenges.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore brought together Polish and Singaporean musicians for an evening of multicultural music and artistic collaboration during the “Rojak of Sounds” concert.

Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore hosted a special cultural evening titled “Rojak of Sounds,” featuring an international lineup of musicians and performers at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

The concert featured renowned Polish musicians Maria Pomianowska and Piotr Kopietz alongside talented Singaporean artists including Riduan Zalani, QingLun Tan, Niranjan Pandian, and Ragha Rajasekaran.

The event also showcased performances by musicians from Singapore Raffles Music College, including Wang Zuo, Peng Conghui, Zhao Tian, Lu Shujie, Tao Yi, Guo Lanni, and Zhao Ruiwen.

The concert celebrated music as a universal language, bringing together instruments and sounds from different cultures and regions of the world in a harmonious performance filled with emotion and artistic storytelling.

Despite the rainy weather, audiences gathered to enjoy the performance, with the atmosphere adding what organisers described as a unique sense of mysticism and charm to the evening.

The Embassy also expressed appreciation to the Singapore Botanic Gardens for supporting the event and helping create a memorable cultural experience for performers and audiences alike.

April saw a series of cultural, diplomatic, and community events hosted by the Embassy of Poland in Singapore, including Poland Shiok Festival, Polish Weekend @ Stevens, and national celebrations.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore had an active and eventful April, marked by cultural promotion, diplomatic engagement, and community outreach.

At the start of the month, the Embassy shared Easter greetings with the Polish and international community, wishing health, peace, and joy. The Embassy and its Consular Section were closed from 3 to 6 April for the holiday period.

A major highlight of the month was the ongoing Poland Shiok Festival, which celebrated Polish culture in Singapore through music, film screenings, exhibitions, culinary experiences, and public talks. The festival also featured interactive performances such as “Chopin vs. AI,” which explored the relationship between music and technology.

The Embassy also hosted and supported the Singapore debut recital of renowned Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, who performed alongside pianist Michał Biel. The event drew strong audience engagement and highlighted Poland’s contribution to international classical music.

Another key event was Polish Weekend @ Stevens, held as part of Poland Shiok. The weekend included a family picnic, cultural activities, and an authentic Polish brunch prepared by chefs from Poland, offering guests a taste of traditional cuisine and hospitality.

Diplomatic celebrations also took place in April, including Poland’s 3rd May Constitution Day reception. The event brought together diplomats, government representatives, business leaders, and members of the public to celebrate Polish history and strengthen Poland–Singapore relations.

The Embassy also hosted a press night in collaboration with the Singapore Press Club and Novotel @ Stevens, showcasing Polish culture, cuisine, tourism, and economic development. Guests experienced traditional Polish dishes prepared by chef Sebastian Kornacki.

Business leaders and officials meet in Singapore to deepen bilateral ties and explore strategic opportunities in digital innovation, food security, and defence.

Singapore, on 13 June 2025 – The Poland–Singapore Business Forum, held in conjunction with the State Visit of President Andrzej Duda to Singapore, brought together senior government officials, business leaders, and industry representatives from both countries to reinforce growing economic relations and explore new frontiers for cooperation.

Co-organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), and the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), the Forum opened with remarks from President Andrzej Duda and Minister Grace Fu, affirming the strong economic ties between Poland and Singapore and to explore new opportunities for collaboration in strategic sectors.

Participants engaged in in-depth roundtables focusing on three strategic areas:

  • Digital Innovation: Opportunities in AI, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies were explored, leveraging Poland’s deep talent pool and the newly signed Singapore-EU Digital Trade Agreement.
  • Food Security: With nearly 60 Polish food producers accredited in Singapore, discussions focused on mutual supply chain resilience and Poland’s potential as a food hub for Asia and Europe.
  • Defence & Dual-Use Technologies: Dialogue centred on collaboration in R&D and commercialisation of security technologies.

The Forum concluded with a shared commitment to intensify bilateral trade and investment, with both sides looking forward to continued collaboration—including at the inaugural Europe Conference in mid-October 2025.

Visit reaffirms deepening diplomatic relations between Singapore and Poland.

President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, will undertake a State Visit to Singapore from 11 to 13 June 2025. The visit marks an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

President Duda will be formally welcomed with a ceremonial reception at Parliament House on 12 June, where he will call on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. Later that evening, President Tharman and Mrs Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam will host a State Banquet in honour of President Duda and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda.

On 13 June, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong will call on President Duda. President Duda will also attend the Singapore-Poland Business Forum organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), and the Singapore Business Federation.

The President will be accompanied by the First Lady and senior officials from Poland.

Heads of Mission from Austria, Paraguay, Poland, and Türkiye were formally accredited in separate ceremonies at the Istana, marking a new chapter in diplomatic relations.

Singapore, 20 May 2025 – In a series of official ceremonies held at the Istana, the President of the Republic of Singapore, Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, received the credentials of four newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from Austria, Paraguay, Poland, and Türkiye.

His Excellency Sadik Arslan
The Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye

Ambassador Sadık Arslan began his career as a Research Assistant at Anadolu University before joining Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996. He has held various diplomatic postings at the Turkish Consulate-General in Jeddah and Embassies in London, Riyadh, and Tel Aviv. He later served as Chief Advisor and Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Türkiye, Ambassador to the Netherlands, and concurrently Permanent Representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). He was also Türkiye’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva and Special Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Most recently, Ambassador Arslan served as Director-General for Public Diplomacy and Strategic Communications at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before his appointment to Singapore. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Ankara University, a Master’s from Marquette University, and a PhD in Economic Policy from Anadolu University. He is also an alumnus of the Oxford University Foreign Service Programme. Ambassador Arslan is married with two children.

His Excellency Tadeusz Chomicki
The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland

Ambassador Tadeusz Chomicki is a seasoned Polish career diplomat with over 33 years of experience in public service. He previously served as Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, and concurrently to China and Mongolia. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held key roles including Director General of the Export Policy Department, the Minister’s Office, and the Asia Pacific Department. He also served in the UN peacekeeping mission in Cambodia (UNTAC) in 1993 and has represented Poland in numerous multilateral forums on cybersecurity, digital affairs, disarmament, and non-proliferation.

Ambassador Chomicki holds a degree in Sociology from Warsaw University, with post-graduate studies at Oxford University and the European University Institute. He has also taught as an academic, researcher, and visiting professor, and was awarded an honorary doctorate in business administration in Hong Kong. He is married with two children.

His Excellency Miguel Ángel Romero Álvarez
The Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay

Ambassador Miguel Ángel Romero Álvarez, born on 18 February 1967 in Asunción, is a senior Paraguayan diplomat with over 30 years of service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Promoted to the rank of Ambassador in 2018, he currently serves as Paraguay’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea and non-resident Ambassador to Cambodia, Mongolia, the Philippines, and Singapore. His distinguished career includes key roles such as Director General of the Anti-Corruption Unit and President of the National Boundary Demarcation Commission. He has served in various postings across Venezuela, Israel, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Chile, the EU, and the UN, and played a key role in MERCOSUR-EU, CELAC-EU, and UNASUR negotiations.

Ambassador Romero holds a Master’s in National Strategic Planning and Management from the Institute of Higher Strategic Studies in Paraguay and a Diploma in Diplomacy from Oxford University. He is also a graduate of the Diplomatic and Consular Academy in Paraguay and holds a Bachelor’s in English Language from the National University of Asunción. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

His Excellency Peter Storer
The Ambassador of the Republic of Austria

Ambassador Peter Storer began his diplomatic career at the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, focusing on the Consular and EU Internal Market Departments with a particular emphasis on Asia. His overseas postings included roles at the Austrian Embassy in Moscow and as Counsellor at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva. He also served as Deputy Head of Mission and Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Canada (2007–2011), and later held the same cultural role in Tokyo (2011–2015).

From 2015 to 2023, Ambassador Storer was responsible for Asia, Central Asia, and Türkiye at the Ministry, before becoming Deputy Director for EU Common Foreign and Security Policy. He holds an Honours Degree in Political Science and Journalism from the University of Salzburg and completed postgraduate studies at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna in 1993.
