Season of Impressionists, a sunflower-themed afternoon tea inspired by the works of the post-impressionist Dutch painter, Vincent van Gogh, is the first in a four-part series of art-inspired afternoon teas presented by Anti:dote in collaboration with ARTiSTORY and the National Gallery, London.

The Season of Impressionists Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Singapore is a feast for the eyes and the palate, with delectably culinary creations inspired by one of Van Gogh’s most famous works, Sunflowers, created in 1888.

The journey of your artistic culinary experience will be started with a line-up of amuse bouche: a delightful honeycomb cracker with flavors reminiscent of hae bee hiam (dried shrimp), or a filo pastry shell stuffed with roasted butternut cubes. The journey will be continued to a selection of savory tarts and sandwiches ranging from smoked salmon brioche, petite lobster roll, egg mayo green tea bun, and the most intricate one- lemon blinis sandwich with duck rillette in the middle.

However, it doesn’t stop there, when it comes to high tea, bonbons will be the perfect pair – where in this event the bonbons are featured exquisitely as if it is an art piece!  You’ll be missing the primary experience if you don’t tase the sunflower praline pot with chocolate soil and orange marmalade sponge arranged in the form of edible sunflower in a pot.

Selection of bonbons you should expect to taste on the Season of Impressionists Afternoon Tea

To support the ambiance, guests can look forward to a picture-perfect setting for afternoon tea, designed to make them feel as if they are a part of Van Gogh’s painting. Diners will be seated in a room decorated with sunflower-themed ornaments, fresh sunflowers, and a framed replica of the masterpiece. There will also be an interactive photo opportunity with props set up, inviting guests to capture the moment while enjoying this artistic dining experience.
