The Embassy of Finland facilitated the voting process at its office located in the United Square Office building at 101 Thomson Road, United Square #21-03, Singapore 307591. The voting hours were scheduled from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on all three days.

The Ministry of Justice, overseeing the election process, ensured smooth operations by publishing a comprehensive list of advance polling stations along with their respective opening hours on the vaalit.fi website. Eligible Finnish voters residing abroad for the entire advance voting period, including election day, were also provided with the option of postal voting. Detailed instructions for postal voting were made available on the Electionsfinland.fi website.

Finnish expatriates in Singapore were encouraged to exercise their democratic rights by participating in the advance voting process, contributing to the selection of representatives for the European Parliament. SHELL Singapore Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Shell plc, concluded the sale of its Energy and Chemicals Park located in Singapore. The signing ceremony for the shareholder’s agreement took place between Chandra Asri Capital Pte. Ltd. and Glencore Asian Holdings Pte. Ltd. and marked the formalization of the agreement to transfer ownership of the Energy and Chemicals Park to CAPGC Pte. Ltd.

The shareholder’s agreement was signed in the presence of representatives from Shell Singapore Pte Ltd, Chandra Asri Capital Pte. Ltd., and Glencore Asian Holdings Pte. Ltd. on 8th May 2024. The agreement solidified the joint venture between Chandra Asri and Glencore, establishing CAPGC Pte. Ltd. as the entity responsible for acquiring Shell’s interest in the Energy and Chemicals Park in Singapore.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore (KBRI Singapura) played host to a delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) of Kota Dumai on May 3rd. Led by Zulfan Ismaini, the delegation engaged in discussions concerning the marketing potential for Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) products from Kota Dumai. The meeting also focused on exploring avenues to attract investments from Singapore to boost the export of taro, which serves as the primary agricultural product of Kota Dumai.

KBRI Singapura expressed its appreciation for the proactive initiative undertaken by KADIN Kota Dumai and assured its full support towards promoting the products and economic interests of Kota Dumai. The embassy reiterated its commitment to facilitating trade relations between Singapore and Kota Dumai, emphasizing the significance of such collaborations in fostering economic growth and development in both regions.

IN a significant accomplishment, Lt. Col. Jimrhic Obias of the Philippine Army recently concluded the Command and Staff Course (CSC) at Singapore’s renowned . The 10-month programme, held from 16th January to 2nd November 2023, attracted 232 military officers, including 18 International Officers from 11 countries.

During the graduation ceremony at the Istana on 2nd November 2023, with Singapore’s Minister for Defense, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, as the Guest of Honor, Lt. Col. Obias received the Book Prize for his outstanding paper titled “Preventing War in Asia: The Impact of UN, Great Powers, and Regional Institutions on Stability.” His insightful analysis delved into the persisting concerns about conflict and war in the region, shedding light on the evolving geopolitical tensions arising from territorial disputes in Asia.

The CSC, CSC (NS), and CSC (Executive) are comprehensive courses offered by the GKS CSC, preparing officers for senior command and staff appointments in the Singapore Armed Forces. ON 4th November 2023 an eager gathering of astronomy enthusiasts in Singapore embarked on an extraordinary cosmic voyage, delving deep into the mysteries of the Universe as seen from the Australian outback. Deputy High Commissioner Ms Angela Robinson inaugurated the premiere night of “Capturing the Cosmos” last Friday at Science Centre Singapore’s Omni-Theatre. The event drew a crowd of over 100 avid astronomy enthusiasts, who were treated to an awe-inspiring experience. Following the screening, participants had the unique opportunity to observe planets through the telescopes at the Science Centre Observatory, further enhancing their cosmic adventure.
