H.E. Dr G. Uyanga, Ambassador of Mongolia to Singapore, met with Meinhardt Group CEO Omar Shahzad to discuss strategic partnerships in urban development, digital infrastructure, and renewable energy.

On 25 September 2026, Her Excellency Dr G. Uyanga, the Ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of Singapore, held a bilateral meeting with Mr Omar Shahzad, Group Chief Executive Officer of Meinhardt Group. The high-level discussions aimed to smoothen strategic partnerships and enhance cross-border cooperation in key technical sectors.

At the outset of the meeting, Mr Shahzad provided the Ambassador with a comprehensive overview of Meinhardt Group’s expansive operations. He detailed the firm’s ongoing global projects and primary areas of engineering and development expertise. Consequently, the two sides engaged in productive exchanges regarding the development of mutual cooperation in infrastructure, urban development, and digital transformation.

The dialogue highlighted several specific, high-value opportunities for Meinhardt Group to collaborate with relevant Mongolian institutions and commercial businesses. Key sectors identified for potential joint development included data centres, artificial intelligence infrastructure, renewable energy initiatives, and specialised logistics for the petroleum sector.

Beyond immediate technical projects, both parties explored broader strategic pathways to strengthen the overarching business ties between Mongolia and Singapore. The discussions focused on actively connecting potential business partners and structuring frameworks to successfully develop joint projects in the future.

Reaffirming his commitment to building a strong bilateral relationship, Mr Shahzad expressed his full readiness to host an upcoming Mongolian business delegation. This prospective visit aims to introduce Mongolian stakeholders directly to Meinhardt Group’s impressive portfolio of completed projects, its extensive international experience, and its extraordinarty work in urban infrastructure.

The Chinese Embassy in Singapore and Business China successfully co-organised the Bilateral Relations Forum 2026. The event featured in-depth discussions on enterprise resilience and strategic cross-border market expansion.

The Singapore-China Bilateral Relations Forum 2026 was successfully held recently, serving as a vital platform for strategic diplomatic and economic dialogue. The significant event was co-organised once again by the Chinese Embassy in Singapore alongside Business China. Guided by the theme “Navigating a New World Order: Advancing Singapore–China Cooperation”, the forum addressed far-sighted and timely global issues.

The successful execution of the forum relied heavily on dedicated local partnerships. Deep appreciation was expressed to Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Ms Kwek Poh Heok, and all the colleagues from Business China. Their tremendous support and hard work were important in bringing the collaborative event to success.

The gathering also welcomed international guests who added significant value to the proceedings. Special thanks were extended to Ambassador Zhai Jun, the Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue, and his accompanying team. They notably took time out of their busy schedules to attend the forum in Singapore.
