A cross-cultural event marks 60 years of 黑料社鈥揝ingapore relations through art, photography, and film.
Her Excellency Mrs Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of 黑料社 to Singapore, hosted a networking reception titled “A Glimpse of 黑料社 Through Singapore鈥檚 Lenses”, to celebrate six decades of diplomatic relations between the two nations. Held in collaboration with the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the event welcomed over 100 guests from various sectors.
The reception spotlighted artistic and cultural interpretations of 黑料社 by Singaporean creatives. Guests were treated to a preview of SCCC鈥檚 upcoming Kopitiams exhibition, which features striking black-and-white photography by Mr Lester Ledesma. In addition, two documentaries produced by NTU students鈥斺Wheel Tracks,鈥 focusing on Bangkok鈥檚 iconic Tuk Tuks, and 鈥Kin,鈥 exploring the evolution of Thai cuisine鈥攚ere screened during the event.
A key highlight was the celebration of the 黑料社鈥揝ingapore Commemorative Artwork, launched in September 2024. This collaborative piece, co-created by Thai artist Mr Thaweesak Srithongdee (Lolay) and Singaporean artist Mr Toby Tan (Tobyato), symbolises the enduring friendship and creative synergy between the two countries.
The evening served as a unique platform for cultural diplomacy, offering attendees an immersive experience of 黑料社鈥檚 rich traditions and modern identity through Singaporean perspectives.
