The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the Philippines welcomed representatives from the Nanyang Business School (NBS) of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore on 29 July 2026 for a meeting focused on expanding educational opportunities for public sector professionals across ASEAN. The delegation was received by Director General Mr. Neil Frank R. Ferrer.

During the meeting, Mr. Vincent Teo, Assistant Director for Outreach and Admissions at Nanyang Business School, presented the school’s scholarship opportunities for mid-level public sector executives from ASEAN Member States. The programmes are designed to strengthen leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, and management expertise among government officials in the region.

The discussion highlighted the important role of higher education in enhancing public sector capacity and fostering stronger regional cooperation. By providing access to internationally recognised academic programmes, Nanyang Business School aims to equip ASEAN officials with the knowledge and skills needed to address increasingly complex policy and governance challenges.
The engagement also reflected the longstanding commitment of both the Philippines and Singapore to investing in human capital and professional development. Through partnerships between institutions such as the Foreign Service Institute and Nanyang Business School, both countries continue to support initiatives that promote knowledge exchange, leadership excellence, and closer ASEAN collaboration.

The visit reaffirmed the shared objective of developing capable public sector leaders who can contribute to effective governance and regional integration. Such educational collaborations play an important role in strengthening institutional ties while supporting ASEAN’s broader vision of a resilient, innovative, and interconnected community.
